Domain "expiration" issue

  • Unknown's avatar

As per the suggestion in this thread (https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/expired-domain-renewal-and-transfer?replies=11), I’m creating a separate thread for our site.

We are no longer able to modify our DNS or Nameserver settings, and no option to renew our domain is visible. To our knowledge, the domain was set to auto-renew. Please help us resolve this ASAP, thanks so much.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi there,

Is this for the domain, pleated-jeans.com? That domain expired in May and was recently removed from our system.

I see you’ve bought a domain mapping upgrade. That upgrade won’t help you in this case so I’ve cancelled and refunded it and sent you a link to pay for renewal of your domain. Once we receive payment we can contact our registrar to try and recover the domain.

The domain has been renewed. Please contact the registrar.

    Hi dear,

My domain zeffryalamsyah.com has expired more than a year. I thought it was charged automatically to my credit card but looks like change on my credit card number made this fail.

Is there any way to activate y domain? I have no issue to pay the outstanding charge.

My active email address is (email visible only to moderators and staff).

    Appreciate your response.

    Thank you.

Hi @kokkieh thanks for looking into this, but this situation keeps getting worse for us since the domain mapping was canceled it looks like our site now redirects to a broken wordpress page (pleated-jeans.wordpress.com – whereas it previously redirected to pleatedjeans.wordpress.com)

is it possible to have the previous redirect restored, so that we can redirect our site users to a temporary domain we have set up while we wait to have or original domain restored?

  • @theacquiredtaste

As I explained above, your domain had expired and was removed from our system. The payment you made does not instantly renew it, but I’ve emailed our registrar to get the domain restored to our account. I’ll let you know once they do that.

  • @zeffryalamsyah

Your domain has been completely expired and off our system for some time. It’s not possible for us to restore a domain so far expired, but we also don’t have to – that domain is showing as available to register to me if I enter it on My Site ->Domains ->Add, so you can register it as a new domain wherever you want, here or at another registrar.

  • @theacquiredtaste

Your domain has been restored and I’ve reactivated it on your account. However, the name servers need to update again before your site will work. It’s already working for me, but you might see your WordPress.com site instead until this process completes.

This process happens automatically, so there’s nothing that you need to do. You can track the progress here:

    https://www.whatsmydns.net/#NS/pleated-jeans.com

I’ve also removed and refunded the domain mapping and site redirect upgrades that you had added, as those won’t do anything on your site at all. You should receive the refund in about 10 business days.
