Domain expired … but not expired !!

  I keep getting a message that tells me one of my WP.com domains (I have two–neilneedsakidneydonor.com & neil-kidneytransplantinfo.com) is expired.

  $whois tells me that both domains do not expire until some time in 2015.

  What’s up?

  Hi Neil, I can confirm that your domains are not expiring.

  neil-kidneytransplantinfo.com doesn’t expire until May 2, 2015, and neilneedsakidneydonor.com doesn’t expire until February 26, 2015.

  It’s possible that the e-mails you received were scams, since sometimes domain name owners are targeted by criminals trying to trick them into giving away their credit card to “renew” the domain.

  You can always visit your My Upgrades screen to get the official status of your domains.

  thanks Ian, we knew the domains themselves were not expiring. I subsequently discovered that a WP account invoice needed to be paid. (I’m the site admin but do not receive the invoices or “your account is about to be locked” notifications.) Bottom line, we got the problem sorted and will probably move the site to our own server before the next round of invoices.
