Domain Expired

  Hi,
  I have an domain that was originally purchased through you that is now redirected to a hosting provide that now holds my blog.
  My subscription has expired and my domain has been removed from my site.
  I am wondering how do I go about renewing this without paying for the full subscription to wordpress and if not possible, if the domain can be released or transferred to a new hosting provider.

  I don’t know how to update the post, but shannanmaciejewski.wordpress.com is not the blog it is in regards to.

  Please read this support doc https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/domain-expiration/ and know that the redemption fee set by the registrar cannot be waived by wordpress.COM.

  It is shannanmaciejewski.com
  Looking up the domain info it says it is still registered till Oct 2016 through WildWestDomains.
  So I assuming it is still owned by WordPress.com?

  If I pay the premium fee of $100 or so is it just going to kick back in, or because it expired so long ago, is that not the case?

  Hi there,

  I checked the domain and it is no longer registered with WordPress.com, now it is hosted by Rackspace. It expired back on October 2015 and was picked up during a Go Daddy auction.

  The best bet would be to contact the owner of the domain if you are willing to retrieve it – see if they are willing to sell it to you. It will most likely come at a cost that is not worth paying for. There’s always alternatives (e.g. shannanmaciejewski.me).
