Hi, i just realized my domain expired! I am just getting settled back in after the hurricane and am now realizing i lost the domain as well and am completely freaking out! If you could please point me in the correct direction, it will be greatly appreciated!

What is the domain URL please?

When a domain expires, it then goes through a process that can take several months to complete described at https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/domain-expiration/.

If you are in the grace period you will not have to agree to pay a redemption fee set by the domain name registrar that wordpress.COM staff cannot waive.

Otherwise, if you want Staff to try to recover the domain for you then you will have to agree to pay the redemption fee.

If you’re logged into the account that is associated with your expired domain, they will look up its status and get in touch with details.

If you are not logged in under the correct username account then clear your browser cache https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-your-browser-cache and cookies https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-wordpress-com-cookies prior to logging into the associated account, and provide the domain URL here.

Hi janinethehairstylist,

janinethehairstylist.com expired on 2017-09-02 which is why you are no longer able to renew it from your account. The domain is currently in the redemption period:

Recover an Expired or Cancelled Domain

We can still try to recover janinethehairstylist.com but you will need to pay an $80 redemption fee in addition the $26 domain costs. If you agree, I can send a payment request for that amount and contact our domain registrar once it has been paid.

If you don’t want to pay the fee you can wait until the domain is released, although this can take 80 days or more. There is also no guarantee you will be the first to register it again.

Please let me know which option you would prefer.
