Hi buttermeupbrooklyn,
If your domain has expired, you still have a chance to renew it. You have a Grace Period of about 10-14 days where your domain can be renewed at the regular price.
Then your domain enters a Redemption Period where it can be renewed at an additional fee.
I’ve added the modlook tag to this thread so that a staff member can assist you as soon as possible. This is a time sensitive issue.
Information about domain expiration can be found on this support page:

Thank you! I think the issue that my linked card expired. WordPress staff- please contact me as I need to recover this immediately. Thanks!

buttermeupbrooklyn.com expired on 2017-08-16 and is currently under redemption period.
This means the domain name can still be renewed, but there is an $80.00 redemption fee required in addition to the normal renewal cost and needs intervention from the support staff.
As @tryptc has already tagged this thread for the attention of the support staff, please wait for someone from the support team to get back to you.

It also looks like my wordpress personal site expired as well. Can I get this back as well?

https://buttermeupbrooklyn.wordpress.com/ is working fine. Are you facing any problem with this site as well?
-
Yes, I had tons of custom content on the buttermeupbrooklyn.com site that was built and being redirected from the free WordPress site. I just want to get everything restored and I don’t know how to restore the personal account as well as renew my domain. Is there a phone number that I can call? Thanks!

Please wait for someone from the support staff to get back to you on this. There is no phone support at WordPress.com. Sorry.

Hi – just checking that support staff will see this? I’m concerned about the time sensitivity and would like to make sure that my site gets back up and running soon. Thanks.

Hi there,
While your domain is registered with us, you have not been using it with the https://buttermeupbrooklyn.wordpress.com/ site. Instead, it looks like you had it pointed to a self-hosted WordPress installation hosted with Dreamhost. So your site’s files should all still be on their servers, and you should be able to access it again as soon as your domain is restored.
I’ve sent you a payment link via email for the redemption and renewal fee. As soon as we receive that we can contact our registrar to restore the domain.
If a thread regarding domain redemption has already been tagged for staff, please rather leave it for us to handle from there.

I’ve emailed our registrar to restore your domain. We’ll let you know as soon as we hear back from them.

Our registrar has restored your domain and I’ve reactivated it on your account. It’s already showing your Dreamhost site for me again, but you might need to clear your browser cache before it will work for you.
