Hi there,
Please share your domain name that has been expired. Once a domain expires, it goes through a series of steps that make it increasingly difficult (and more expensive) to renew. An expired domain falls into a grace period for about 10 days to two weeks. During this short window, the domain can be renewed at the regular price.
I have added MODLOOK to this thread so staff can help you with renewal.
Please keep patience while someone from support staff gets back to you.You can read more about domain expiration on this page:
Thanks!

Hi there,
Are you speaking of lolaandelvis.com? You are already logged into the account that you’d used to register that domain.
But that domain expired on 6 March and has already been removed from our system. That is why you cannot find it in your account – you no longer own it. It is currently in redemption with our registrar.
It is still possible for me to recover the domain at this point, but our registrar charges a $80 fee to restore a domain from redemption, on top of the regular renewal fee. Let me know if you agree to that fee and I can get the recovery process started.

Hi, yes – lolaaandelvis.com
Why did the autorenewal stop? This wasn’t something we had requested! The payments have come out every year without having to monitor it but this year it stopped?? Why?
We need to reinstate it but I don’t see why we should have to pay for something we didn’t do!
Kind regards
-
Can you tell us how long this is going to take to get resolved as it is affecting our business.
Kind regards

Auto-renew was never disabled, and we tried to renew the domain several times between 3 February and 5 March. But the renewal attempts were not processed on PayPal’s end.
We sent you an email on 9 February to inform you that the automatic renewal had failed, and we sent several more emails after that up until the domain’s expiration. In the week before and the week after the expiration you would also have received emails directly from our domain provider requesting that you take action to renew the domain.
Your domain was only disabled 42 days after it expired, when it finally went into redemption. We do this so that there is ample time to still renew a domain in the event that it cannot be auto-renewed.
The domain is now in redemption at the domain registry, and the $80 fee if what we have to pay to get the domain back. I have sent you a link via email to pay for the redemption and renewal of the domain.
Once we receive your payment we can email our domain provider to request that they restore the domain. From there it takes up to 48 hours before the domain will be working again, provided there aren’t further complications.
You can find more information about the redemption phase of domain expiration here:

Thank you so much for looking into it for us. Unfortunately we no longer had access to the email that was used when we set up the domain so never received the emails. We changed it on the account last night after realising our emails had stopped coming through! There were other payments taken from the PayPal account at that time and we never received any PayPal notice that something hadn’t gone through. I’m not sure why it wasn’t processed? I will check with them to see why! Are you able to send us any copies of the proof that PayPal didn’t process the payment so that we can show them?
In the meantime we will make the payment via the form you sent. Can you tell us how long it might take to recover the domain?
Kind regards
-
Good morning –
I’ve sent a note to our domain partner. The redemption process will typically take 2-3 days. Once we have more information to share, someone will update you here. If you don’t hear from us in that time frame please write back asking for an update.
We have received your payment for the $98.
Are you able to send us any copies of the proof that PayPal didn’t process the payment so that we can show them?
You can see the entire billing history for your account via https://wordpress.com/me/purchases/ If what you need is not listed there let us know in more detail. We will try to find what you need.

Hi there,
We’ve heard back but unfortunately, the domain was too far expired to be able to renew it. I have refunded the payment you had made to us for this renewal. It can take several business days for those funds to show back in your account, but I’ve processed it from here now.
The domain will be available very shortly to register again as a new domain. If you want to register it through us you will be able to do so from this link https://wordpress.com/domains/add/ or through any other domain registration company.

Thank you. There is nothing in the billing history to show that you have tried to take. Payment after February 2018. Do you have anything you can send us that shows when you tried to take the payment and when it failed?
Kind regards
-
Hi, do you have any idea how long it will be before it is available to purchase again or do we just need to keep checking?
Thanks
-
Please hang tight for a bit longer. It appears that I made a typo in my email to our domain partner. I am resubmitting that message to them with the correct domain, I accidentally added an extra
a. Apologies for all the confusion. -

Good afternoon,
Sorry for being impatient – do you have any idea when we can expect an update?
Thanks
-
We will hopefully hear something within the next few hours, but it can sometimes take up to 48 hours for a domain to be restored.
Getting such a very fast reply as we did yesterday is actually a bit unusual :)
