domain expired

My wordpress.com site is down (hopeacts.org). I have paid for it so I don’t know why it is shown as expired.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

“Hope Acts” is not available at the domain hopeacts.org right now. The mapping for this domain expired, and it has to be renewed.
Your domain may not have expired at GoDaddy but the mapping/upgrade that points that domain to a WordPress.com site appears to have expired. Are you able to renew via “manage purchases”? Perhaps you need to be logged in to a different account? This thread has been tagged for staff assistance.

The domain registered with GoDaddy, but you are paying us for a Domain Mapping upgrade, which ties it to the site.
This Domain Mapping upgrade expired yesterday. We sent several email warnings both before and shortly after it expired.
The Domain Mapping upgrade can be renewed via https://wordpress.com/me/purchases but it must be done by the WordPress.com account which owns the upgrade, which is not the account you’re currently logged into.

I should be the owner of the account. The domain was previously part of another organization, but I thought we straightened this out quite a while ago. The domain was previously linked with HopeGateway. I suspect they received the renewal notices–perhaps the emails went to an account that is no longer monitored. How can we update the ownership on the account? I have been paying for it, own the domain and am the administrator. thank you.

Hm, it’s linked to someone with access to something, they renewed the premium plan 34 days ago.
Actually, since Domain Mapping is included in the premium plan, let me just add this separate upgrade as part of the plan, essentially a free renewal.

Both the upgrade and the site itself are still owned by that other user.

The first name on the account which owns the site and plan is “Liz.”
You’ll need to ask this person to follow the guide at https://en.support.wordpress.com/transferring-a-site-to-another-wordpress-com-account/ otherwise we will continue to consider them owners of the site.
