Our domain name is blpaloha.com
It was originally purchased by another person who has been trying to transfer it to me since she doesn’t want the responsibility of paying for the domain. We tried to get it transferred last year and had nothing but issues.

The domain is indeed owned by a different WordPress.com account here.
It would need to be recovered by that account first, they can contact us for that, then we can assist with transferring the ownership of it to you.

Last year when our domain was about to expire I was notified. Why wasn’t I notified this year?

I just looked at my notices from last year. Last year our domain wasn’t set to expire until 8/16/2020 so why did we have less than a year to renew our domain?

Just spoke to the person who originally purchased the domain. She removed herself from the account. So if that is the case how can I fix this?

If the original owner removed themselves is no longer associated with the account isn’t able to log in what can we do?

The original owner requested that the account would be transferred into my name when they removed themselves.

The WordPress.com account held by an individual named Kellie is still the account on record which owns the domain, they have not been removed from the domain.

Ok, you canceled your domain blpaloha.com on July 19. That process included several warnings as to the status of canceling a domain outside of the grace period.
The good news is that we are still able to recover your domain, as it is currently in the Redemption period: https://wordpress.com/support/domains/domain-expiration/#redemption-period
A late recovery fee of $80 will be added to the regular price of renewal (since you had received a refund when canceling the domain). This fee is charged by our domain partner and is not one which we can waive. That’s in addition to your annual domain renewal from us, so the total is going to be $98.
I have sent a payment request for the total of $98 to the email address on your account. Once the payment is sent, please reply here to let us know, and we will recover the domain.
Once the domain has been recovered, you’ll be able to transfer ownership of both the domain and its attached site to the other account.
