Domain Expired, cannot renew

  Hello, it seems that our domain has expired. I am now taking over responsibility for managing the site – the original person no longer manages the site – and would like to fix the domain registration. However there is no way to do this via the Dashboard – perhaps the grace period has ended?

  How can I renew the domain so this issue is fixed?

  Hello, thanks for flagging this. Is there a way to call someone to get this accomplished? I am concerned that we will lose the domain. This is a small non-profit organization with existing investments in printed materials, etc.

  It seems that there used to be a domain mapping upgrade under ‘laviniak’s’ account. This upgrade was expired so I removed it. However, the domain itself is registered elsewhere, not with WordPress.com.

  The domain still points to WordPress.com though so feel free to purchase the Domain Mapping upgrade again. You can find this upgrade by going to Store -> My Domains on your blog’s dashboard and follow the steps there.

  Thanks for getting back to me – however when I follow the instructions (My domains –> Map a Domain I already own) I receive this message:

  “The domain name you entered is already mapped to a WordPress.com blog.”

  When I go to Store–> My Domains the only option I have there is to “edit” – while the subscription is set to “expired”.
  Here is a link to a screen grab showing that page.

  How else can I re-establish the domain for the site?

  There seems to be something odd going on with the upgrade. I’m checking with a developer to resolve this issue. I’ll contact you as soon as I know more.

  Note that the domain itself isn’t registered at WordPress.com and therefore can only be mapped to your WordPress.com blog.
