Domain expired – don't understand procedure to get it back, account
-
My domain
acanadianfamily.com
expired.
I have read support and understand I’m in trouble but don’t understand how to get it back – or at least get back my original blog acanadianfamily.wordpress.com (which thought it would revert to if I didn’t buy the domain).
I am leaving my request here and hope you can help,
Thank you,
EvelynThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You will need staff help for the renewal – I have flagged this for the staff to help you
In the mean time – Go to
Dashboard >> Store >> Domains >> and see if you can set the Primary domain back to acanadianfamily.wordpress.com
Then go to
Dashboard >> Store >> My Upgrades >> and see if you can cancel the domain mapping
Your content is safe – just hidden for a while – when things expire the old domain mapping can give problems
The staff can also help to enable acanadianfamily.wordpress.com to be displayed again while the rest of things are sorted out

Thank you very much for your helpful response, Auxclass.
Just knowing that my content is safe has brought my blood pressure back down. As always, I appreciate the work that you and others are doing.

acanadianfamily.com expired on January 23.
Unfortunately, we no longer control the domain and cannot renew it for you. All of your content is still available through this URL: http://acanadianfamily.wordpress.com/
I removed the expired domain upgrade from your account, to avoid further confusion.
We attempted to inform your domain’s expiration (via email and dashboard notices). It was possible to recover the domain for some weeks after its expiration, but because of the time lapsed, the domain was sent back to the registrar who then sold it to a new owner. This support article describes the expiration process in detail, if you are interested: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/domain-expiration/
Here is the publicly available contact information of the new domain owner: http://whois.domaintools.com/acanadianfamily.com
You could try contacting them to see if they will send the domain to you. Please be sure to use a reputable online purchasing site for this transaction, if it happens.
I am sorry I was not able to help you more in this case.
