Domain expired. How to renew?
-
Hi,
I think my domain has expired. I missed all the email notifications, as it was sent to an old email (I forgot to update it). I tried clicking on the link provided to renew my upgrade, but it says that my domain (http://shopsurasura.com) is not available.
How do I go about renewing it? And how much will it cost?
I have contacted support a few times via email, but did not receive any response.
Would appreciate any feedback!Thanks!

Have you tried just re-registering? It looks like your name has fallen out of the redemption period and is available to anyone. That should allow you to just register the name and start over (save you the 60 or 80 dollars to retrieve the name while it is in Redemption.
I have also flagged this for staff attention.

I reviewed the domain record for shopsurasura.com and I see that it expired 70 days ago on 2011-06-16. It takes about 80 days for a domain to completely expire and become available again to register, so one option is to wait for that and try to register it before anyone else does. In some cases, it’s possible to pay an additional $80 fee to the registrar to recover the domain from redemption. That fee is in addition to the normal renewal fee. If you are interested in that option, contact support at http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/ and let us know.

One caution – there is an industry that specializes in buying up expired domains and then holding the name for hostage or using the search engine or original traffic for not good uses – so it is NEVER a good idea to let a domain expire – you might not get it back or getting it back could be very expensive – I know someone that had that happen to their company and it took them a long time and a lot of legal fees to get their Trademarked name back.
