Domain expired – I need to renew during redemption period

    I am trying to renew my domain. It is currently in its redemption period so I do not have access to my domain’s email address or website. Please advise on how to renew!!

    It is still possible to renew your domain if it’s in the redemption period, but the process is now more expensive and complicated. WordPress.com’s registrar charges an $80 late renewal fee in addition to the $26 renewal charge that WordPress.com charges. The good news though is that there is still a chance of reclaiming the domain through this option.

    There is also one other option. You can wait till the 80 day redemption period is over and the domain becomes available to be registered again. However, with this option, you run the risk of someone else purchasing the domain before you can, in which case you will be unable to register it again.

    Please let the staff know if you would like to proceed with paying the late renewal fee, by replying to this thread, for an attempt to recover the domain name. This option is also time sensitive because while the domain is in the redemption period it can be auctioned off to an expired domain bidder.

    We would also suggest that you enable the auto-renew option so that you will not have to worry about renewing your domain or losing control over it in the future.

    Once the staff has your confirmation, they’ll reach out to their domain partner and get the approximately 2-3 day process started immediately.

    Domain Expiration

    We can still try to recover it but you will need to pay an $80 redemption fee in addition to the $26 domain renewal costs. If you agree, a staff member will be able to help you. I have tagged this post with modlook, which will inform a staff member to help.

    If you don’t want to pay the fee you can wait until the domain is released, although this can take 80 days or more. There is also no guarantee you will be the first to register it again.

    Please let the staff member know if you want to pay the fee!

    Good morning. You’ll see that I have sent an email your way with a few more details about the redemption process. In that note there is also a payment link that you can use to submit the redemption fee + annual registration for your domain, highpointcentre.com.

    I should hear back from our domain partner in 2-3 days about the request and will post an update for you as soon as I have more news.

    What email did you send to? Please send to (email visible only to moderators and staff).

    My domain is connected to my outlook as it is suspended, my outlook will not work either (email visible only to moderators and staff) not in use.

  • @julezsantana, when you share your email address, it shows up to staff only. Suggest don’t use alternative methods to display your email address in public forums.

    @jules Ive redacted your email address as this is a public forum which is quickly indexed by search engines. Staff will still be able to see it.

    I can see a member of staff has already email the address on your Account Settings page. Can you confirm whether you have received it? If not, please check your spam folder and let me know if you are unable to find it there.
