Domain expires

  • Unknown's avatar

Hi! I let my domain http://www.jennifershidler.com expire and am now going back to my original web address provided by WordPress. Readers and myself included are getting error page that is telling them it has expired even when traveling to the page via the Jennifershidler.wordpress.com address. How can this be fixed as I have no intention on renewing my previous domain?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi,
While logged into the account, on the notice that says “Uh oh! Your blog’s domain jennifershidler.com expired”, click the “Cancel this domain” link. If the expiration notice still appears after doing that, close your browser completely, restart it and visit the page that had the notice/banner.

Another option: Log into the WordPress.com account that you used to buy the upgrade. From your Dashboard go to Store > My Upgrades. Next to the domain, click the cog icon, then click the cancel link. Here’s more info about cancelling upgrades: https://en.support.wordpress.com/my-upgrades/#canceling-upgrades

If neither of those work, add “modlook” to the tags for this thread to let WordPress.com staff know that you need assistance with this issue.

    Hi
How can I find out when I need to renew my account domain name?
    Thanks

    Hi @kittykatsbitsandbobs,
If you registered your domain through WordPress.com, they will notify you when it’s due to be renewed. To see what date that is, visit the domains page: https://wordpress.com/domains/

If you set up auto renew, your domain will be automatically renewed each year.

If the domain you’re asking about is k1kat.com, then it expires on January 20, 2016.
