domain expiring? but already renewed
-
Hello,
I received a notification that our domain is expiring (this-day-and-every-day.com) as of tomorrow and that it is handled by wordpress.com. The name was purchased through godaddy and has already been renewed until 2016. Can you tell me what exactly is expiring and how this will affect our site? The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

It will be your domain mapping upgrade that’s expiring. Domain mapping of an existing domain URL that you already own and purchased elsewhere is not done free of charge. You have to renew the domain name purchase where you made it and the domain mapping purchase here every year.
Mapping an existing domain costs $13. annually. In order to map to a domain one must have an underlying .wordpress.com subdomain blog to map from and it does not matter what that underlying .wordpress.com URL is. It does not have to match the domain URL. If you have registered a .wordpress.com blog you log in as Admin under the exact same username account that registered the blog and purchase a domain name by purchasing an annually renewable domain mapping upgrade for the blog.
To renew your domain mapping upgrade you must be logged in as Admin http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/#administrator under the exact same username account and associated email address that registered the blog and purchased the upgrade for it. Then you can access the blog’s dashboard and navigate to > Store > My Upgrades and renew any upgrades there.
