  Hi,
  My site domain X.com expired recently. It is now accessible as X.wordpress.com. Can I continue with the free plan and then retain my original domain X.com if I renew it a few months or will I lose the X.com domain name?

  Can you please confirm the domain name that you are referring to? I’m not sure if you meant to write X.com as that domain is currently in use on the service formerly called Twitter.

  Generally speaking, if you let a domain expire, there’s a short window to renew the domain at its regular price. After that, the domain enters the redemption period, when you will need to pay an additional $80 fee to redeem the domain.
