Domain Forwarding

    Hi guys,

I need to map my url “yoemama.com” to a squarespace site. Setting up the A record and the cname should be fine, but where Im running into trouble is the forwarding bit. I’m not seeing an option to do that in the custom domain settings

Squarespace requires that “Within your domain provider’s Domain Forwarding area, create a 301 (permanent) redirect rule to forward the version of your domain without the www to the version with the http://www.”

Can you guys help me out with this?

    Thanks!

PS. This contact email isn’t the one registered to this account, I know, I’m Evan, Kendall’s web designer.

    Hey there,

Could you tell me exactly how you’d like the site to behave? You mention forwarding in your subject line, but you have domain mapping purchased instead. If you can talk me through your needs, I can help!

If you are moving your blog hosting away from WordPress.com, we do recommend that you transfer your domain registration as well.

The guide below explains how to transfer the domain name to another registrar, including how to access the authorization (EPP) code:

Transfer a Domain to Another Registrar

Also, because this is a domain administrative issue, I do need the site owner to make the request before I can act on it. I will send a private email to the owner’s registered email address, and he/she can respond with permission to make adjustments.

    Thanks Evan!
