Domain Forwards With Masking
-
I have a GoDaddy domain that I want to use for my website. I do not want to transfer it to WP’s server because I still want the ability to create subdomains using their DNS manager. Does WP allow domain forwarding with masking? If not, does WP have an ip address that I can add to GoDaddy’s DNS so that my domain still points to my WP site as the domain (not the WP subdomain: workwithchantell.wordpress.com)
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi workwithchantell,
I believe WordPress.com doesn’t offer domain forwarding with masking (which basically keeps your site in a frame).
It might be better if you put your blog on a subdomain, and then added a CNAME record that points to your blog onto GoDaddy’s DNS. Here’s a support document that shows you how you may go about doing so:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-subdomain/You still have a great amount of control over your domain if you used WordPress.com as your name server, as there’s a Custom DNS feature that lets you continue to create domains.
