Domain Fowarding to my new blog

  I just created my new blog with wordpress.com which I want to be the splash page for a message forum board I run.

  I have a domain registered with godaddy.com, but hosting with Linksky. On my godaddy account, the name servers point to Linksky. There is an option to “foward” domains on godaddy, and I wanted to input my new wordpress blog url into it, but Im afraid if it will mess anything up?

  If you forward to your blog then people going to <yourdomain>.com will go to your wordpress blog yourdomain.wordpress.com but from this point it all the URLs etc will be on the yourdomain.wordpress.com name.

  If you want people to see yourdomain.com in the URL bar, on search engines, etc. you need to purchase the domain mapping upgrade. If you do this and want a forum on your domain you must create a subdomain mapping for the forum, for example forum.wordpress.com. You can do this now that you can edit DNS CNAME records
