Domain from another registrar about to expire, can i transfer it?

    I currently own a domain from Network Solutions that will expire in February. I would like to pay WordPress for the domain annually INSTEAD of paying Network Solutions (for the domain) AND WordPress (to map it). Is there a way to register the same domain with WordPress once it expires from Network Solutions? Or transfer it or something?

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    WordPress.COM is not set up for incoming domain name transfers so you will need to keep the registration not here.

    Even if you could transfer the registration here you would still need to pay for domain mapping.
