Domain from WordPress

If you purchase a domain name from WordPress does the stats indicate where the links into your site come from?
I had a free Domain name pointing to my WP.com blog. In the referrer stats it only ever listed the domain name as being the referrer. I’d posted links to the site on various different forums. I think it’s handy having a record of which places get you the most traffic?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The stats on a domain being domain mapped by wordpress.com are the same stats we get on the wordpress.com root blog stats. Nothing changes in that regard at all. Please see here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/stats/

If you wish you can run third party stats programs.

Thanks very much.
I’m still not sure about this. I’d already that support page and the premium features page that details domain names.
I was kind of hoping someone who has a domain through WordPress could just give me a yes or no answer.
Hypothetically if I post a link on the “fans of shoes forum” to example.com which points to my WP.com site, will it say in the referer stats the view came from “fans of shoes” or example.com

I have two domain which are being domain mapped by wordpress.com. I see the referrers from this forum and other forums I post to in my stats only when people use the link on the other forum to click into my blogs.

Incidentally I had no idea that would hyperlink “example” in my post.
Please don’t follow those links.
