Domain got disconnected

I forgot to renew my domain name and it disconnected from my site which used to be kstfowlerdesign.com. I reconnected it but now I cant find how to get to my WordPress site to edit it. It was originally made under my old internships site but she transferred it to me once I changed the IP address. I used to just type in the address in the url bar and then it would just let me edit through the tool bar above. Now I cant get to it at all. Please help!

    WP.com: Unknown
    Jetpack: Unknown
    Correct account: Unknown

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi there,

The domain, kstfowlerdesign.com, doesn’t appear to be registered at all, and has never been connected to any site hosted with us on WordPress.com. I also don’t see any historic data for that domain at https://securitytrails.com/domain/kstfowlerdesign.com/history/ns, which would suggest it has not recently been registered, if at all.

Can you make sure that you’ve provided the correct domain?

Based on your subscription I suspect you might have been using the open source version of WordPress at another hosting provider, rather than WordPress.com. In that case, only your hosting provider can help you with this. But if you can give the correct domain, we can help you figure out who that is.

Hi! Thank you so much for the response. I’m so sorry but I actually typed the address wrong. My domain was under WordPress as katfowlerdesign.com. Does this domain register at all? Do you need any other information in order to find the website in the system? Like email address? Since then I started a new WordPress account with my same email address, but was still able to login through the admin domain and edit katfowlerdesign.com. Since the domain got disconnected I cant access katfowlerdesign.com at all to try to edit

  • Okay, katfowlerdesign.com does exist, but it has never been registered with us, nor connected to any site hosted on WordPress.com.

Your domain registrar for that domain is GoDaddy.com. Based on the IP addresses for your domain, your website is hosted with Amazon Web Services, using the open source WordPress software made over on WordPress.org. In other words, you are using WordPress, but you’re not using WordPress.com, and your site has no connection at all to your WordPress.com username account you’re using to post in this forum.

The site isn’t loading for me, which means something likely isn’t configured correctly on AWS’s end, or otherwise the IPs you have set on the domain at GoDaddy might be incorrect. Contacting AWS support is your best bet here to get the site working again. If they say it’s an issue with WordPress itself, you’ll want to ask in the WordPress.org forums at https://wordpress.org/support/forums/. You’ll need to register an account on that site before you’ll be able to post there.

Once the site is working again, you’ll go to https://katfowlerdesign.com/wp-login.php and log in using your admin account credentials for that site. That’s a separate account from either your WordPress.com or WordPress.org account. If you’ve lost those credentials, AWS support should also be able to help you regain access.
