Domain grace period
-
I got a new domain under a new site, then I deleted it because I want the domain for my existing site… I just deleted it, is there a grace period where I can get the domain back?
-
(to clarify, I mean is there a grace period where I can retrieve the cancelled domain for my existing site, under the same WordPress account)
-
Hi there!
Yes, there is a grace period. Is this about lalunajasmine.com? If so, we’re still on time to recover the domain, however, you’ve been refunded the price of the plan so you’ll want to purchase it back from the correct account.
The domain can only be restored to the same site (from what I understood the one you deleted) but from there, you can easily transfer it to the site you want:

Let us know how you’d like to proceed.

Ok I see, thanks. So is the best thing to do to create the same site again, get the domain there, then upgrade the existing site and then transfer it..? Can you clarify about the correct order/things I am supposed to do?
Thank you!

Sure, first you can upgrade the correct site (just do not register any custom domain at the moment – you’ll transfer the one we’ll recover for you).
Once that is done, let me know and I’ll restore the deleted site and domain so that you’ll be able to transfer it to the correct site.
After that, you’ll be able to delete the old site again.Does that make sense?

Awesome, thanks for letting me know.

Hi, I can’t access the site from my WordPress at the moment. It doesn’t show up as a site on my normal dashboard. When I go to account settings -> my purchases, it shows up but I cannot click through, and it says “You are no longer a user on La Luna and cannot manage this purchase.”

Hi there,
That’s because you deleted that site.
I’ve connected the domain to your existing site, jasminehanley.wordpress.com, so you should see it there now.
Let us know if anything is still not the way you want it :)
