Domain help
-
Hi there,
I have an existing website at a custom domain (cfbstrategies.com), but I would like to use WordPress as the blog portion of our website (cfbstrategies.com/blog). Is it possible to do this without requiring my entire website to be through WP?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You can only map a subdomain (e.g. blog.cfbstrategies.com) because mapping to subdirectories (e.g. cfbstrategies.com/blog) is not currently allowed.
Note that subdomain mapping is offered as part of the WordPress.com plans.
Let me know if you need additional help.

Hi @cfbstrategiesblog, you’d have to check in with the experts and weigh the many opinions out there. it could have some impact on SEO, but having a blog also positively impacts SEO.
I just wanted to note the site itself can be through WP here. You could also install your own copy at your current host and use WP from the /blog directory if you’d like.

I’m currently using Webflow for my site and I do love it as a web builder.
How would I go about doing what you describe without having to build the site using WordPress tools? Do you know of any documentation on this? Sorry I’m such a n00b. :)

I’m not familiar with Webflow, but you might ask them if they’re able to install WordPress there.
If not, I’d definitely recommend using the subdomain option instead.

@supernovia, you’re very welcome!
Webflow is a hosted web building service (similar to Squarespace and Wix) . I don’t think they support the installation of WordPress. The subdomain mapping seems the best solution.

@supernovia, the subdomain option looks more professional and @cfbstrategiesblog gets to use WordPress.com for the blog part of the website! :)
