  I saw that the .blog domain was available for FREE. But when I went through WordPress to get it there was actually a fee associated with this. I’d like to be lightmusick.blog vs. LightMusickBlog. WordPress.com Is this really available for FREE? Thanks!

  You need to purchase one of the WordPress.com Plans. Each plan includes one domain name for free (including the .blog). You can read more here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/

  Hi there,

  Each paid WordPress.com plan includes a free domain credit which you can use to register a new domain — this includes .blog domains. So you could use your domain credit to purchase lightmusick.blog if you wanted to.

  If you were to purchase lightmusick.blog without a plan, the domain cost would be $22.
