I transferred my domain name to another site, but when it was time to renew it would not let me renew it from the other site, how can I continue to keep my domain name through the other site?

In addition to if you can provide what domain/site this may be for as mihaiapetrei asked, did you mean you transferred the registration from WordPress.com to another registrar? If so, the process should have looked something like this: https://en.support.wordpress.com/move-domain/transfer-domain-registration/
Otherwise, some other options that possibly may be related to what you’re referring to is: https://en.support.wordpress.com/move-domain/

I went through the transfer process with the first link above. I thought it had completed because my website page had transferred, which is why when it came time to renew I didnt think I had to renew with wordpress and would instead renew with the new website and host.

Hello again,
The first link that you gave is for transferring a domain name, but in your last few replies also I see that you said again it was hosting. Do you mean you also thought the hosting transferred?
If you let the domain expire, it is in redemption, or will be let go and you’ll have to try and get it again there.
When you say that ‘it is not listed there’ can you clarify where you’re referring to/where you’re checking?
If we can have a bit more information we’ll be able to further assist. I’m also tagging this thread for a staff member to be looped in to take a look to see if we can find anymore information that way.

Our system shows the transfer for henpecklane.com was never completed. I can see the transfer was initiated from your account and a transfer code was successfully sent. In order for the transfer to complete, this code must be given to your new registrar. If you gave them the code, then the transfer failed on their side and I recommend contacting them for more information.
henpecklane.com expired on 2017-06-05, which is why you are no longer able to manage the domain from your account. It is currently in the redemption period:
We can still try to recover it but you will need to pay an $80 redemption fee in addition to the $18 domain costs. If you agree, I can generate a payment request and contact our domain registrar once it has been paid.
If you don’t want to pay the fee you can wait until the domain is released, although this can take 80 days or more. There is also no guarantee you will be the first to register it again.
If we are able to recover the domain, you can start the transfer process again.
Please let me know what you would like to do and we’ll go from there.
