domain help

  Hi, I have two wordpress sites for two parts of my business which will be linked. My sis in law helped me set up my main website, but the domain i wanted for the main site was issued to my other wordpress account. I changed the domain name on my other account and permanently released the domain, thinking that i could change the main site name to the domain that i just released. I was wandering how long it took for the domain to be re released so that i could add it to my main site?

  Normally, the Support team can assist with transferring domains from one blog to another. I’m going to ask a staff member to help you with the domain swap.

  Which domain would you like to use? And what is the URL of the site you would like to use it for?

  This depends on when the domain was cancelled. Once I know which domain you are referring to I can check that for you.

  Hi Gemmacevens,

  That’s weird, I replied via the email, but the reply is not in the thread.

  It was the http://www.learntosewwithamber.wordpress.com I cancelled it yesterday afternoon (2nd Aug). I would like to change http://www.sewingwithamber.wordpress.com to http://www.learntosewwithamber.wordpress.com

  Hi Amber,

  I can see you renamed learntosewwithamber.wordpress.com and chose the option to permanently disable that address (see step 7) during the process.

  This means you won’t be able to use that WordPress.com address again. While it’s no longer possible to use learntosewwithamber.wordpress.com, your site address can be changed to something similar using these steps:

  https://en.support.wordpress.com/changing-blog-address/
