domain help

I purchased a business and they have their domain/site through you. They gave that up when we purchased their business. Now that I am trying to get our site up it won’t let us have the website. What do I need to do to get that domain?

Hello!
Your next step is to reply with the domain name. The domain name will inform us about what should happen next.

Hello again!
HostingChecker reports that your site is hosted with GoDaddy where this forum supports sites hosted with WordPress.com.
The staff has visibility and access to WordPress.com sites that it doesn’t have for other hosting platforms. For that reason, assistance here is very limited for sites running on other hosting services.
Likewise, DomainTools reports that your domain registrar is Wild West Domains. (The link provides contact information.)
To meet the near term need of getting access to the site and domain, these contacts will help you the most.
For general WordPress help with sites not hosted at WordPress.com, you can seek assistance in the WordPress.org support forums.
For the curious, there is more to know about the differences between WordPress.com and WordPress.org.

Hello again!
While I see the home page claims that the site has been “…parked free, courtesy of WordPress.com”, three different web hosting detectors show the site is hosted with GoDaddy.
One additional tip that the site is not on WordPress.com is that the site lacks an obvious security provision (SSL) that is present all WordPress.com websites.
If the site was a WordPress.com website, it would be associated with a WordPress.com account, and your access to the site would come from a login to that WordPress.com account. Getting this login information with the purchase of a business would be like to getting the keys to a house or a car when you buy it.
If there is a WordPress.com associated with the site and you would like to try to claim ownership of that WordPress.com account without having login information, this link provides more information about recovery options for WordPress.com accounts:
https://wordpress.com/support/account-recovery/
and the account recovery form:
https://wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=recovery
Given that there is an issue with domain access as well as site access, I will flag your post for staff review by adding a modlook tag.

Hi there,
@drizzleblocks is correct. The domain is currently under a different account. You’ll need to post in this thread from that account in order for us to further assist you with recovering the domain.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks!
