  I have a company website that is on a different host. I would like to create a new website for this company on WordPress whilst the previous website is up and running. When the new website is complete, is there a way that I can change the WordPress site domain to the domain of the ‘old’ website – while removing the previous host and website?

  Hey there, no problem. You’re welcome to create your new site with us before pointing the domain here. That way your current site can stay “live” until your new one is ready.

  I do recommend getting a plan earlier on if you’ll need it, since they have other features you might find useful, including direct support:
  https://wordpress.com/plans

  Then just avoid using the domain options until you’re ready, and then you can map or transfer the domain.
