  Hi there,

  I currently have my website set up on Squarespace, as well as the domain. I want to keep that website running while I build out a WordPress site, then transfer the domain over to the new WordPress site that I created to launch.

  Can you let me know how I could do that, or if it’s at all possible?

  You are welcome to get your site set up on the free ‘WordPress.com’ URL we assign to all sites created here. This will allow you to set up your site in private while you leave the current site active.

  When you are ready to “launch” your WordPress.com site, you will need one of the plans listed here, all of which include domain mapping to allow you to assign a custom address to your site. https://wordpress.com/pricing/

  Once you upgrade and set up the domain mapping (we can help with that) your WordPress.com site will essentially replace the current site, and you will have launched it at a time of your choosing.
