Did you renew the domain? This has nothing to do with the theme (themes are purchases, not upgrades, and do not expire).
-
Is it possible you let your domain expire? http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/domain-expiration/
It looks as though your domain expired and is now in the hands of a domain squatter.

Thank you both for the quick answers!
The domain is renewed and still active! Nothing expired! (This upgrade will be renewed automatically in 8 months on May 17, 2014)
How could someone buy a domain that is still in use?

There is Domain name registration & domain mapping
A whois shows the domain name registration expires on July 31. So your May 17 date might be the domain mapping renewal date.
Someone has already flagged this for the staff to help, they can look at the history of the registration and any transfers.
There have been some problems reported with renewal notifications not going out, but blog owners need to keep track of the magic dates. I got my domain name because the old owner did not renew it, I think they just forgot about it.

Thank you auxclass for your answer!
The blog admin who purchased the premium theme has the renewals on auto pilot. Moreover on my domain upgrades it says that the domain is included in the premium theme price… I don’t know…
Plus if you double check whois you will see the the domain name is registered in wild west and godaddy at the same time! :-/Thank you so much for reaching out, hopefully it will be resolved…

Wild West does WordPress.COM domain name registrations, Wild West is part of Godaddy – so they are related
Also look in
Dashboard >> Store >> Billing History >> you can see the Upgrades for the last few years and when they occurred

It looks like another user on your site has already contacted us about the domain and we’re looking into it.
