Domain Hosted on a different server

  I’m sure this is asked a lot, but we own a domain hosted on another site. I want to make a WordPress Premium account with that name. Is there a really simple way to use the domain hosted on another site with WordPress? Does this question make sense. I know almost 0 about hosting and domains.
