Domain hosted on bluehost, but site is wordpress.com – how to switch to .org?

  I’m not quite sure how this happened, actually. My bluehost-hosted domain points to my wordpress.com site, not a wordpress.org site. How can I switch this over?

  Hi there,

  You need to log in to the domain management on Bluehost (I see that this is where you registered your domain) and change the name servers from the WordPress.com ones to the ones Bluehost will provide you with.

  If you’re having trouble changing the name servers, just contact Bluehost and they’ll help you out.

  I did that, but the site is still hosted at wordpress.com. The only thing that changed is now my site isn’t accessible at its domain name.

  Hi there, I’m seeing http://victorialeewrites.com/ just fine right now and when I checked, it is showing as hosted at Bluehost.

  When you make nameserver changes, it can take 24 hours for that change to propagate to all the namservers around the world, and in rare cases sometimes longer. Typically in the last few years though, it has taken less than 24 hours.
