  My domain name is hosted by 123.reg . If I upgrade my package would I be able to transfer ? My web hosting to you and if so is it easy to do . I am not very savvy on websites/hosting . Would it cause any disruption to my site at all . I also want to get rid of the adverts that hav mysteriously appeared on my site . How can I do this please . Thanks in advance.

  If you already own a domain and have purchased it from another registrar then there are two things you can do.

  1) Domain Transfer: You can transfer domain hosting to WordPress.com. @drunkentennis has already shared the process of domain transfer with you.

  2) Domain Mapping: You can map your domain to WordPress.com. Please remember that after purchasing domain mapping, you have to contact your registrar (domain provider) and ask them to change the Name Servers to point the domain to your WordPress.com site.   Moreover, the website hosting of your WordPress.com sites is always on the WordPress.com, irrespective of the plan you have chosen. Also, if you want to upgrade your plan, it will not affect your current WordPress.com site’s data/content. Your plan can be upgraded in a couple of minutes without disturbing your current site.

  As I explained above, upgrading a plan will not disturb the content on your current WordPress.com site.
