Domain I Own
-
Hi, I own a domain that I thought I’d ‘mapped’ to a new blog I’m creating, yet it appears to go to somewhere else/an old one that wasn’t requested. Can anyone help look into it a bit further?!?
Thank you!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
What the domain URL of the domain you mapped? There isn’t a domain mapping subscription under your account, so it must be under a different account than the one you are contacting us from.
Let me know, thanks!

Hi there, aah, I think I may have accidentally moved it at the same time/my main account name.
It ‘was’ danb26.wordpress.com but I’m sure I paid to map it – Can anything be done?
Thank you!!

Hi there,
What was the custom domain that you purchased? I do not see that a domain was ever attached to the site danb26.wordpress.com. Let me know and I’ll take a look.
Thanks!

Thanks Darnel, I have criticalpopcorn.com and it was attached initially, seems something weird is happening!
If you search that exactly, it takes me to the old address when it should be attached to the new one.

I see that criticalpopcorn.com is hosted with Go Daddy. You’ll need to log into your account there and point the nameservers back to your WordPress.com site. Then, we can map it the site of your choice on this end (http://criticalpopcorn.wordpress.com/?).
It is odd that danb26.wordpress.comis the landing place for criticalpopcorn.com considering the nameservers are not pointing to WordPress.com. But, if you point the nameservers back here, then map it to the other site on your account, I’m sure we can get that fixed.
Thanks!

Hello again! Right, thank you again, I’ve done that now – Can you look at the next bit and let me know if everything should now be as it is?
Cheers,

Hi there,
I still see the domain pointing to Go Daddy, but the dns has not fully propagated.
I was able to map criticalpopcorn.com for you. You’ll still need to do a few things:
1) Purchase the subscription here by renewing:
https://wordpress.com/my-upgrades2) If you haven’t done so already, point the domain to our name servers (again, I still see the domain pointing to Go Daddy nameservers):
ns1.wordpress.com
ns2.wordpress.com
ns3.wordpress.com3) After giving that a few hours to take effect, set the domain as primary under https://wordpress.com/my-domains
Let us know if you need more help!

Thanks for all your help.
Quick question before I do all that, will it move everything I’ve posted/publised across with the new directions?
New to this side of the game…
-
Hi there,
I will not move any content over – all pointing your nameservers over to WordPress.com will do is allow criticalpopcorn.com to work with http://criticalpopcorn.wordpress.com/.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks!

Hey there, so I’ve done all of the above but it now it’s having issues connecting anything on this side –
One last bit of help needed?!
-
I wonder if this bit is something that’s missing, where is it?
“2) If you haven’t done so already, point the domain to our name servers (again, I still see the domain pointing to Go Daddy nameservers):
ns1.wordpress.com ns2.wordpress.com ns3.wordpress.com
Thanks…

Yes, that should be the last step.
Here are the instructions from Go Daddy on how to change nameservers:

Hello there! Thank you for your help, there’s definitely things I couldn’t have done without you.
As a general rule, does it look like it’s setup correctly, or is there anything else I can do to make it better linking through?
Thanks so much!

Hey there,
Yes, everything looks great! Are you wanting to make criticalpopcorn.com your primary domain? If so, you can do it here: https://criticalpopcorn.wordpress.com/wp-admin/paid-upgrades.php?page=domains
Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!

Ah superb, thank you!
The next stage to make it more of a website than blog, just so people can click between things easier, but one bit at a time…
-
Of course! You can definitely use the WordPress site you just started to create a website instead of a blog.
