Domain in redemption period

  Hello,
  I was not able to pay the penalty of $80.00 when my domain expired. Now I believe it is in the redemption period (expired August 23, 2013). Is there anyway that the $80 can be deferred? If not I wont be able to renew, what steps do I take to keep the content posted under that domain name and how do I access it? I tried using the defaultname.worpress.com but that didn’t work either. Please advise?

  Hi there,

  The $80 redemption fee for your domain cannot be deferred, I’m afraid. It is due in order for the domain to be renewed. I have checked however, and it does appear that your site is now set to be completely available at mytutoringhouse.wordpress.com, so you can use that while your domain continues through the redemption period and becomes available to the general public, whereupon you can re-register it for the usual price!

  One more question. How long does the redemption period last?

  It can vary, but it is usually about 80 days or so from the expiration of the domain until it is released to the general public.
