Domain input
-
When I attempt to add my domain name where it says “add domain name” it tells me a user of word press already has my domain name. But that’s impossible because I own it. The name is http://www.apparel.us.com . I would like to add this to my account as soon as I can.
Best Regards, Ebon Glenn
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I have manually added a zone record for your domain.
You should now be able to map it here following this guide: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/map-existing-domain/

Do I have to register a domain name that I currently own with word press, before I map it?
-
No. You should now be able to map it here following this guide: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/map-existing-domain/

Here is the message I’m continuing to receive every time I attempt to add my domain:
Other subdomains of this domain are registered to another user at WordPress.com so you can’t use it for your site. Only that user can register other subdomains.
Any suggestions?

Hm, I was afraid of that. It seems that .us.com is not a valid top level domain: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Internet_top-level_domains
What they’re really selling you appears to be subdomains. subdomain.us.com, just like we have forums.wordpress.com.
Since someone here has already mapped [something].us.com to their blog, it’s not available to other folks.
What is the particular attraction to this .us.com as opposed to just .com or .us?
