Domain Issue

  I am currently oversees in Rwanda where my nonprofit is based, and my website appears to be down when I view it online (I receive the ‘DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN’ error message). However, when I turn on my VPN and set my IP to U.S. address, the website loads fine. This is a new issue, last year I was able to view the website from all locations. Do you have any suggestion to fix this? Thanks.

  Hi there,

  I am able to visit yourshootingtouch.wordpress.com (I am based in North America) so I can confirm that the domain settings are correct and the site should be visibe. In this case I suspect that your internet service provider may be having issues with finding the domain correctly. It seems you are able to visit our forums. Is this also via a VPN connection or is it the case that you can access some *.wordpress.com domains, but not others? Can you let me know if you have any issues in loading the following URLs while connected directly to the ISP (no VPN)

  • https://wordpress.com
  • https://s1.wp.com
  • https://dfw.wordpress.com

  As well, I would like you to run the following network test: http://www.speedtest.net/

  Can you tell me the results you get for:

  • Latency
  • Download speed
  • Upload speed
