Domain Issue
-
I purchased my domain from WordPress a few years ago and linked it to my current Squarespace site simplyjessicamarie.com I am now getting an error that my domain is not found. I do not see it in my domain portion of my site settings, and am VERY confused and concerned. I checked my email, and saw an email with an action required to verify my email address, which I did. But, my domain/website is still not working. Please let me know how to fix this asap, thanks!

Hi there,
From what I see in the WHOis Data the nameservers of simplyjessicamarie.com is pointed to WordPress.com. I also see that the domain is on hold with our registry partners because it expired a while ago.
I’ll be happy to contact the registrar to see if we can restore simplyjessicamarie.com to your account, but I cannot guarantee that we will be able to get the domain back. If I am successful, I can send you a manual payment request form for you to repurchase the domain.
I will let you know once I hear back from the registrar.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks!

Hi Darnell,
Thanks so much for following up with me about this. I originally purchased my domain through WordPress, however I need it to be pointed to my current Squarespace website. I had it mapped two years ago so that it would do so.
I did receive an email back on June 12 that it expired, however I believe I had renewed it at that point?? How would I have had my domain for the past 3 months without having renewed it at that point? My WordPress emails are sent to my old email address – I need to see if I can update them to my new email so I am notified about these as soon as possible!!
I have been in contact with Wild West Domains, but they said that they are not able to access anything, that I need to work directly through WordPress.
My domain is for my business, and I NEED to keep my current domain. If there is anything you can do to get it back to working, I would greatly appreciate it. I have a huge project releasing on Wednesday on my website in collaboration with a big brand, and we need everything running smoothly by then.
When I am in my WordPress account, I do not even see my custom domain in the domain section. Is that because of the renewal issue?
I appreciate your help, and will keep checking back. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help.
Best,
Jessica -
Hello again Darnell,
Another business owner has been trying to help me look into this, and it shows that my domain is still active and registered until at least June of 2017 – so I should be good to be able to keep my domain, correct?

I completely understand that it is the weekend and you might not be working today, but any help you can provide would be so so appreciated!
Best,

Hi Darnell,
I went through my billing history, and it does appear that I somehow did not pay to renew it this year. However, I am hoping that since WhoIs is showing that it is registered through June of 2017, that I might still be able to repurchase my domain. I believe that is an $80 fee, correct? I am happy to pay that as soon as possible to get my domain back, and to get my website working again.
I apologize for the multiple emails, and truly appreciate your help so far!
Best,
Jessica -
Hey Jessica,
I contacted Wild West Domains and am waiting to get an update for them. Hopefully, you won’t have to pay the $80, but either way, we should be able to get it back for you.
I’ll let you know once I hear back from them.
Thanks!

Hi Darnell,
Oh that is SUCH great news!!! Thank you so much, I really appreciate you working on this for me – especially over the weekend! I’m excited to hear that I’ll likely be able to have my domain back up and running soon!
Please let me know if there is anything else I can do to help at this point!

Hi Darnell,
I hope you’re having a great afternoon! I wanted to check back in to see if you’ve been able to get in contact with Wild West Domains about getting my domain back? I would love to have it back up and working tomorrow if at all possible, as I am supposed to begin running a big campaign and sale on Wednesday.
I really appreciate all of your hard work on this – let me know if there’s anything I can do to help!
Best,
Jessica -
Hi Darnell,
Sorry to keep sending messages but I wanted to check back in before the end of the day to see if you have heard any more about my domain? I completely understand if these things take time, however the campaign for Wednesday is quickly approaching and I would love to be able to tell the company tomorrow if I am able to keep it for Wednesday or if we need to delay the campaign due to the domain issues. If there’s any way we can have my domain back to working by tomorrow that would be fabulous!!
Best,
Jessica -
Hi Jessica!
Would you mind checking your email inbox? I have followed up with you via email regarding the status of your domain.
