Domain Issues
-
I have a current blog at theblackhairedguy.wordpress.com. I’ve been wanting to start a second blog with a domain, and tried to do this today. What I ended up doing was upgrading my current blog to premium and adding the domain to that instead. After realizing my mistake I canceled my upgrade and (I think) my domain registration. I now know how to properly make a new blog and address, but still would like my domain for that.
When I try to use the domain I picked (everythingsucks.blog) it says it’s already linked to a wordpress account (I’m guessing my current blog?) even though it isn’t present in the domain options. I’m assuming when I cancelled the premium subscription I lost the rights to the domain, but figured I could sign up for it a second time.
I suppose my question is is it just a matter of time before it realizes that the domain is open again? Or did I screw myself over and need to find a new domain name? Or do I somehow still own the domain even though I don’t have the option for it? I appreciate any sort of advice or help, because I’m fairly new to blogging and I feel like a clueless idiot. Thanks!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
Cancelled domains are not released immediately, and depending on when you cancel it, it can be more than a year before it’s released again.
Luckily I was still able to restore your domain, so it’s back in your account now.
I see one other site in your account, https://dimensionalfruit.wordpress.com/. Do you want the domain connected to that site?
Or if you’re yet to create the new site, please do that first, selecting only a free *.wordpress.com address, and then let me know and I can move the domain over to the correct site for you.

Thanks kokkieh! I checked my current blog and do see the domain added again. The dimensionalfruit.wordpress.blog was just me playing around double checking how things work. I just created a new one, yeseverythingsucks.wordpress.com, and I’d like the domain everythingsucks.blog added to that one. Thank you for your help!

I’ve moved the domain to the new site for you and it’s set as the primary domain, so you should be all set now.
Please let me know if I can help with anything else.

Everything looks okay, and I appreciate the help. I feel terrible for being so ignorant about things on here. Thanks again!

Please don’t. Domains are complicated even for the people who understand them, so don’t beat yourself up :)
