Domain Issues

  I am not sure where to go from here. I purchased a domain name through WordPress (alexandriacherie.co) in November of 2015. I didn’t know it wasn’t renewed in November of 2016 until recently. I came to WordPress to find the domain name missing from my WordPress account. However, my hosting company (Bluehost) still shows I own the domain but through Wild West Domains. I contacted Wild West Domains and they informed me that my domain is supported through WordPress but under my name and all my information.

  How do I get my domain name back? I am completely at a loss.

  Hi,

  The domain alexandriacherie.co, was indeed registered through WordPress.com. Wild West Domains is our domain reseller and you can manage the domain through your WordPress.com account.

  The reason this domain is no longer showing in your account is because it expired on 2016-11-03. It is currently in the redemption period.

  The good news is that you can still try to recover your domain as it has not yet been deleted or purchased by someone else at auction or sold on back-order. A late renewal fee of $80 will be added to the regular domain renewal cost of $18. The total cost will be $98.

  If you agree to these costs I can generate a payment request for the amount. Once that has been paid, we can start the process of trying to get your domain back.

  Should the recovery fail after you’ve paid the redemption fee, that fee is refunded in full.
  If you do not want to pay the fee, you can wait until the domain is released but you may not be able to get it back if it is purchased at auction during this time.

  Acting quickly is important if you do want to try and recover the domain, so please let me know what you would like to do as soon as you can.
