  Hi there – I have a big issue with a domain. I took it a few years ago with WordPress although I moved it over to wix.com soon after. As a result when it comes to renewal it’s always difficult to trace the fact that the domain is originally with WordPress. The domain is http://www.clayouth.com attached to email address (email visible only to moderators and staff) can you help? It is now in redemption.

  Hi capitalla,

  You are correct — clayouth.com is registered through WordPress.com but pointing to another host. The domain expired on 1st September 2018 and is currently in the redemption period.

  At this stage, we can still try to recover clayouth.com but an $80 will need to paid along with the domain cost. I’ve sent a payment request to the email address on your Account Settings page and will start the recovery process by contacting our domain registrar once your payment comes through.

  If you don’t want to pay the fee you can wait until the domain is released. Although it’s worth noting this process can take 80 days or more and there is no guarantee you will be the first to register clayouth.com again.
