Domain Issues
-
My organization has a domain (abot.org) but it’s registered (at godaddy) in the name of the president of the company that built the original website. Can I still name our blog abot.org? Also, can I use google aaps through our blog/website?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

allstonbot,
It depends entirely upon who has control of the domain. Whomever has access to the Go Daddy account with where the domain is registered will have control over the DNS for the domain itself. If it’s in the name of someone who is not a part of the company, that person can transfer the domain into another Go Daddy account that belongs to the company. If you do already have control of the domain in the correct account, you can update the information on the domain in the account.

It does not matter in whose name a domain is registered when you map it here. But someone needs to have the ability to set the name servers to the right host – in your case to WordPress.COM – the correct settings are in the link from timethief above
