  I have a free .WordPress.com domain plus I have a registered domain from a different registrar and I want to connect the former to the latter. How do I do that without the annual fees which I don’t need.

  While you can connect your own domain name for free to your WordPress.com site, this requires a paid WordPress.com plan. You can opt for monthly instead of annual billing.
