Domain Issues

I registered a new domain name for my blog and mapped it to wordpress. But I seem to be stuck from there. When I click on the blog title it takes me to a generic page. Everything else takes to my blog, but with the .wordpress.com address instead. What do I do next? I don’t even know how to define what the problem is so I don’t know how to proceed.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hiya!

    Don’t worry, this is normal!

I can see that you registered your domain name with us today, which explains why you’re still having some discrepancies in the address that gets displayed.

Domain names get stored on your computer in a “DNS cache” so browsers can load websites faster. Sometimes when a change is made to a domain name, such as your Domain Mapping settings on WordPress.com, the previous website is stored on your computer, and you see the old address getting displayed instead of the one you expect

These stored domains are usually updated every 48–-72 hours on your computer, but you can force it to update sooner by “flushing” your computer’s DNS cache.

You can find instructions on how to flush your DNS cache here:
http://www.whatsmydns.net/flush-dns.html – this should help you see the new address, but if not, don’t worry just yet. It can take time for your ISP to update their records to point to your new domain.

I hope this helps. Check back over the next day or two, flush your cache, and if you are still having problems after that, get back in touch and we’ll see what we can do.
