Domain issues

We had the domain ‘CarolinaCommonElements.com’ associated with our WordPress.com but did not renew the WordPress.com subscription, which then caused the domain renewal to lapse. It appears that the domain was renewed and the nameservers updated to point to Godaddy, but the domain is still registered through Wild West Domains.

Is this domain still under the WordPress.com umbrella and if so, are we able to renew it?

    WP.com: Yes
    Correct account: Yes

  • Hi there,

We can still recover the domain for you. It’s showing GoDaddy’s name servers because the domain provider through which we registered that domain for you is one of their subsidiaries, and when the domain gets removed from our system it reverts to using their name severs while going through redemption.

In this case your domain isn’t in redemption yet, so if we act fast we might still be able to get it back for you without it costing anything extra.

I’m sending you an email with a payment link. Please use that to pay for the domain’s renewal, and let us know here once you’ve done that, then we can renew the domain for you.

If it enters redemption before we can renew it, it will cost an extra $80 to recover the domain from redemption, but hopefully we can avoid that :)

Thank you! Unfortunately, the email that was listed in my profile no longer works. I have updated the email address, would you be able to re-send the invoice to the new email?

  • Hi there,

I resent the manual payment to your new address. Please let me know if you have received it and have paid.

    Thanks!

Thanks for the update! I can confirm we received payment and I was able to restore your domain to your account.

You should be all set! Let us know if you have any questions or need help with anything else.
