Domain issues – website hosted elsewhere

  • Unknown's avatar

    I host a website with site5 but my domain was bought via WordPress.

    The website went down a couple of days back and I realised it was because I hadn’t renewed the domain with WordPress! I’ve since managed to purchase “domain mapping” although I’m not entirely sure what that means.

    Am I right in thinking I just need to point the website at the site hosted via Site5 by changing the DNS Records?

    I’ve changed the “A” record to point at the websites IP but it doesn’t seem to have worked.

    Any ideas?

    Hi there!

    I’ve made a test right now and your site is ok, I was be able to access it and navigate.

    Looking at https://who.is/whois/advancedairflowsolutions.com I saw that the name servers are ok.

    Do you still having problems?

    Regards.

    Hi Daniel,

    Thanks for the help. Bizarrely nothing appears when I try to load the site using Safari but it appears on Google Chrome. It’s a step in the right direction at least. I’ve emptied the cache etc, I’m not sure what’s going on with it.

    Bizarrely the site has disappeared again! Do you have any idea why Daniel?

  • Hi there,

    I see Thomas helped you with this in live chat and via email today, so I’m going to close this thread. We’ll reply to you via email once the domain is restored.

    @danielancines

    The domain expired in July, but when you looked at the Whois it wasn’t in redemption yet which is why the name servers were still showing. If someone mentions a domain expired, even if they say they renewed again as in this case, please tag it for us in any case so we can make sure that everything is okay and get the domain back sooner if not. If our help is not really needed we can just remove the tag again :)
