Domain link to Facebook

  • Unknown's avatar

Why can’t I share my newly acquired domain(www.doseofbuffa.com) on facebook? It says the privacy settings for this attachment prevent me from sharing it there. Is there a place on my dashboard I can make those changes? Thanks.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,

Because this is a brand-new domain, it’s possible that the domain just wasn’t ready when you tried to share it. (It can take a day or two for a new domain to start working everywhere.) If you can give me a little more information about what happened, that will help me investigate to see if something more is going on. :)

Were you trying to share a link to the domain itself (doseofbuffa.com) or a specific page on your site? Can you send me the exact link you tried to share on Facebook?

Can you also provide a screenshot of the error message you get? You can upload screenshots to your Media Library under Media > Add New in your dashboard, or you can use an online service such as Snaggy.

Please let me know if you have any questions about that!

Sorry I meant to say it will now link up in Facebook. No problem. Another question when I post anything on here or on site this red and white symbol appears next to my name dbuff82-member instead of my gravatar picture. How can I change that so it’s always a picture of me next to my posts? Thanks.

I’m glad the link is working on Facebook now! :)

The red and white symbol next to your name is a general Gravatar image, which is used when you don’t have a Gravatar with a rating that’s suitable for the site. The problem is that your image is not rated as suitable for general audiences, so it won’t display sites that only allow “G” rated photos (like these forums).

That said, I don’t see any reason why your picture would not be suitable for most sites. You can re-rate your image by logging in to Gravatar.com and going here: https://en.gravatar.com/emails/

Just roll over your image and click on its rating, then you can choose to rate it G. Then you can check how your image will display by entering your email address here:
    https://en.gravatar.com/site/check/

Please let me know if you have any questions about that!
