Domain locked by WordPress – need staff assistance please!

    My domain has been locked that I use for my WIX website http://www.selftapehouse.com . Whois says Wild West Domains is the host. I called them and they said WordPress is the domain host and it is in redemption period, but I have no record of buying it through wordpress and I cannot unlock it or renew it / buy it via wordpress.
    I have a wordpress account that I do not use selftapehouseblog.wordpress.com

    What can I do?! I am losing business while my website is not live! And I cannot contact anyone from WordPress!

    That’s correct. selftapehouse.com expired on 24th November 2017 and is currently in the redemption period:

    I’ll be happy to help but I need you to login as theselftapehouse and reply here first — this is the account that owns the domain.

    Once you’ve done so, we can look at the next steps

    Hi Miranda,

    Thanks for for logging in. The good is, we can still try to recover selftapehouse.com but an $80 redemption feee will be added to the domain cost. If you would like to proceed, I can send a payment request for that amount and contact our domain registrar once it has been paid.

    If you don’t want to pay the fee you can wait until the domain is released on a first come, first served basis. It’s worth noting that this process can take 80 days or more and there is no guarantee you will be the first to register it again.

    Please let me know which option you prefer.

    Yes, no problem I will pay the $80.

    I’ve sent a payment request to the email address on your Account Settings page and will contact our domain registrar once it has been paid.

    Does that mean I will definitely get the domain name back?

    There are no guarantees but the quicker we act, the better our chances of recovering the domain :) If we aren’t able to recover selftapehouse.com for any reason, the amount you paid will be fully refunded.
