domain main

Hello, I own the domain wellbeingwv.com and had transferrred it to a square space account in December. The account was working since then and now it isn’t. I would like to release the domain name in wordpress, ie I don’t wish to have a wordpress account. Can you release the domain name, or is there another way that you advise me fixing the problem. It’s rather urgent as I’ve had a functional website for several months, have business cards, clients, etc..
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
Your domain, wellbeingwv.com, expired on 15 February. Our logs show no attempted transfers for that domain in December last year.
Your other domain, welllbeingsolutions.com, expired on 6 February. There is no record of an attempted transfer on that domain either.
Both those domains are now in redemption with our registrar. It is still possible to restore those domains, but we have to pay our registrar a fee of $80 per domain to get them released from redemption.
I’ll need you to confirm for each domain if you want to recover it and if you agree to the fee before I can get the process started. Once the domains are restored I can guide you though the steps to transfer them to Squarespace if you want to do that.
-
Thank you. Yes, I thought the developer transferred but he just mapped. I realize the error is on my end. I only need wellbeingwv.com and would like to restore asap
-
Okay, I’ve sent you a payment link via email. Once we receive payment I can email our registrar to restore the domain for you.
I did not include the cost of private registration in the payment link, as that needs to be disabled in order for you to transfer the domain, but if you decide not to transfer you can always add that afterwards again once the domain is restored.
-
I have paid to restore domain wellbeingwv.com. Please advise next steps
Thank you
Colleen Harshbarger -
Thanks. I’ve emailed our registrar to restore the domain. I’ll let you know as soon as it’s restored, and then help you to transfer it out.

Okay, your domain has been restored and should be showing your Squarespace site again.
To transfer, go to My Site ->Domains, click on the domain, and select the Transfer ->Other registrar option. Click the blue button on that page to unlock the domain, and you’ll receive a transfer code via email. Give that code to Squarespace and they’ll be able to transfer the domain for you.
-
It looks like you’ll need to reverify your email address first. I’ve sent you a verification email to do this. The email will be from a @secureserver.net address.
Click the link in that email to verify your contact info, and then you should be able to transfer the domain.

Hello Kokkieh,
I followed all steps accurately, verified e-mail, thought I was all set since my website is functional, then I received this email from WordPress:REGISTRAR TRANSFER DENIED
==========================================Dear Colleen Harshbarger,
The transfer you requested has been declined because you opted-in to a transfer lock for 60 days when you agreed to the WordPress.com Change of Registrant policy.
For security reasons, when you change the registrant’s first name, last name, or organization name, you consent to a 60 day lock on transferring the domain name. Because you have provided your consent, Section 3(6) of the ICANN Policy on Transfer of Registration between Registrars permits us to decline your transfer request.
https://www.icann.org/resources/pages/policy-2012-03-07-en
If you feel the lock was initiated in error, you may contact (email visible only to moderators and staff) to request a review.
Regards,
Domain Services

SOO Frustrating! Can you please help? I understood that with the $98 payment and these steps I’d be all set. My business can’t afford 60 days without a functional website.

My business can’t afford 60 days without a functional website.
Your website is fully functional. Your domain is loading your Squarespace site as it had before, so anyone can see your website. You are just being blocked from transferring the domain.
Did you follow the steps I provided to request the transfer code? Did you receive the transfer code via email and give it to Squarespace? I need to know at which exact step in the process you received that email.
Have you recently changed the email address or name in your domain contact information?
Also, my email associated with this account produces the following error message when an email is sent to it. Please advise how to correct
It looks like you had email forwarding set up with us. You’ll need to re-verify that as well. I’ve sent you a verification email.
Please note that the moment you transfer your domain away from us that email address will stop working, so you’ll need to ask Squarespace what email options they offer and start setting that up before you transfer the domain so you don’t have any more downtime on your email.
-
I followed the exact steps you sent me through giving the transfer code to Square space and then following their steps to enter into the system. Immediately after both sites had a confirmation screen pop up so it appeared I did it correctly, then I received an email from both sites saying the transfer didn’t work. I appreciate that my site is now working correctly but am concerned that the same thing will happen as before, i.e. Transfer wasn’t correct and eventually when I don’t want to pay for 2 websites my site goes away
I have not recently changed my email or contact name in domain name or anywhere on either site
Thanks for your help

Also, I clicked the link in the email confirmation that you sent to me and it said ‘we were not able to confirm this and will send another email, I haven’t received another yet
-
Okay, it looks like our registrar has placed a transfer lock on your domain. I don’t see any valid reason why they should have done this so I’ve emailed them to request that it is removed. Once they do that, you’ll be able to transfer the domain.
Also, I clicked the link in the email confirmation that you sent to me and it said ‘we were not able to confirm this and will send another email, I haven’t received another yet
Your email forwarding is showing as verified now on my end, so it looks like you were able to successfully verify it. You should be able to receive emails at that address now.
-
Thank you for your help kokkieh. Yes, email is working again. Please let me know what you learn about the transfer
-
Our registrar has replied that they’ve removed the transfer lock, so if you give the transfer code to Squarespace now they should be able to initiate the transfer from their end. The full transfer will take about a week to complete.

Hello Kokkieh,
Here’s the latest error with this. Can you please HELP!!

Could not issue transfer: Unable to process transfer for wellbeingwv.com: Invalid authorization information The requester has given authinfo which doesn’t match value . –Invalid authorization information ’43A,5:84N3X5444C’ for wellbeingwv.com. What code did you give to Squarespace to transfer the domain? The code you gave above, 43A,5:84N3X5444C, does not match the format for a domain transfer code. Is that the code that was emailed to you?
I have resent the code. It will come from a @secureserver.net address. If it’s the same as the code you posted above, let me know. In that case I might need to request our registrar to generate a new code.
