  Hi folks,

  I own a domain name that is administered with Netfirms. Can I keep my registration with Netfirms and make my wordpress site have that domain name or do I have to hand over the domain registration to WordPress for this to happen?

  Yes, you can. WordPress.com doesn’t accept domain transfers. The upgrade is for domain mapping. Follow these instructions as you already have a domain that you registered elsewhere, and you want to map that domain to your blog > http://support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/map-existing-domain/
